The year begins with the traditional New Year’s Day celebration of the Naming and Circumcision of Our Lord, followed by a special Covenant Sunday on January 5th. Throughout January, the diocese will host multiple fasting and prayer sessions for clergy, church workers, and their families, emphasizing spiritual renewal and dedication.

February’s highlights include the Diocesan Women Prayer Conference at Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Ogbia Town, themed “The Savorless Salt” (Matt. 5:13). The month also features a Diocesan Praise & Worship Day Service and important youth assembly gatherings.

March brings the start of the Lenten season with Ash Wednesday services across all stations. Two significant developments for the diocese will be the inauguration of new missionary deaneries at Okodi/Okiki and Imiringi. The month concludes with Mothering Sunday activities and special outreach programs, including visits to Martha’s Medical Services and the Daisy Orphanage Home.

Throughout this period, the diocese maintains a strong focus on prayer for:

  • Peace and development in Nigeria, Bayelsa State, and Ogbia communities
  • Spiritual revival and church growth
  • Divine favour for the diocese and Ogbia Land
  • Personal growth and ministry effectiveness

The calendar reflects the diocese’s commitment to both spiritual development and community service, with regular cross-over night vigils, committee meetings, and pastoral activities scheduled throughout the quarter. Each event and activity has been carefully planned to strengthen the faith community and extend its positive impact throughout the region.

Bishop Obaze encourages all members to participate actively in these programs while maintaining personal spiritual disciplines through regular fasting and prayer, emphasizing that these practices remain “the only dependable source of solution” for both personal and communal growth.
